| 345343 | 2005-04-16 11:41:00 | There must be a 14 year old out there who can help with this problem! For anyone who is interested - the Hyundai is a flip phone. For some completely obscure reason, known only to it's creators who obviously haven't field tested the d*** thing, the speaker is INSIDE when it is flipped closed. This makes the ring exceedingly quiet. The only way to avoid missed calls is to have it on vibrate and keep it in my pocket. (9 missed messages yesterday, a rude text from my other half saying if I'm not going to answer it why have it? and an offer of a bucket of water to put it in when I got home) I downloaded the theme "Mission Impossible" yesterday as it seemed quite loud - and an appropriate title for the problem of hearing it - but still missed a call in the car this morning - and for once the car radio was quite quiet. I really, really want to try out different tones (without paying a small fortune for it) to see if I can find some sound that will register in the subconcious. Text messages are even quieter. The reason I picked it over a Nokia was the bigger buttons (am slightly long sighted these days and didn't fancy reaching for the reading glasses every time it rings) but the volume is Really Bad News! Only 17 months to go to a free upgrade... |
