344507 2005-04-13 10:27:00 Hi,

There's an accounting book I want that costing just under $100 at most place (either that or they don't have it). [Have to import from UK]

Now, I've found it on textbooks4u.co.nz for just under $70 including freight all up. The only way I can pay is to deposit money in their account at a local bank. However, the books need to be sourced from overseas and would take anything up to 3 or 4 weeks. Off course, I must pay first.

Has anyone used them? How reliable are they? $70 is quite a bit for a book, and I don't want anything to go wrong. Any one has experience with them?

Thanks,

344508 2005-04-14 06:19:00 Nobody been there? Looks like it.

The site looks fairly professionally done, but there's no address given for their physical embodiment. ;) That may not be suspicious, but it does give more confidence if there is a real street address.

Why not ring them up and ask them where their business is located. They have an 800 number, so it won't cost youi anything.

344510 2005-04-14 07:56:00 Earlier this year my wife and I purchased probably close to $400 of textbooks form them...

I like yourself was hesitant so I rang them also asked for a physical street address and a company gst number for piece of mind before I purchased. They happily sent me all the information I asked for so I then went through and made the purchase.

All textbooks arrived, although not all at the same time as I think they were sent as soon as the books were sourced. I think we were charged a one off fee of $3(?) for delivery yet each book was couriered to us as they were sourced.

So I can happily tell you that the service we recieved was first class adn their prices were the best I could find after extensive searching.

However none of the textbooks we ordered needed to be sourced from overseas.

If you search textbooks4u on these forums you'll probably find my post which is pretty similar to yours..

Hope this helps.

Have ruled out that option due to methods of payment. I can only pay by cheque (which is too much hassle if outside NZ) and at the most, deposit money into accounts at a local bank.

Thanks anyway,
