649083 2008-03-13 05:40:00 ffmpeg is brilliant - that's what I use.

Win FF? Well that's what I use for my Touch. It's very good.

649084 2008-03-13 05:49:00 HandBrake can't transcode stuff, it can only rip DVDs.

fair enough.

He might just need the Convert selection for iPod option.

649085 2008-03-13 06:47:00 I use this program:

www.videora.com

It hasn't let me down yet and doesn't take too long to convert videos to play on my iPod.

Easiest way is to do a Custom Windows Update and get it from the optional software updates. Otherwise download it from here (www.microsoft.com).

649089 2008-03-14 04:01:00 Take your pick

Here for 1.1 (23.1 mb) (www.microsoft.com)

Here for 2.0 (22.4 mb) (www.microsoft.com)

Or Here for 3.0 (50mb) (go.microsoft.com) <-- direct link

Or Here for 3.5 (197mb) (download.microsoft.com) <-- direct link

I'm not sure if 2.0 includes 1.1, but the last time I tried a program wouldnt install after I uninstalled 1.1 So, that answered my question.

You dont really need v3 or 3.5.

BUT if youre on broadband, it shouldnt matter.

h.264 same as all the iPods. Just use the "Convert selection for iPod/iPhone" in iTunes once you have imported the file.
