346289 2005-04-19 07:30:00 I like the speed cap idea

I don't like the idea of any cap really .
But if it has to be done, then 10GB isn't enough with the fast connections .
It's like having a Ferrari with an empty tank of petrol .

Looks good, feels great, goes fast for a while, until it all comes to a miserable and depressing premature end .

phut phut phut . . .

346290 2005-04-19 07:41:00 When you are capped you are limited to 64kbps or about 8 Kbps.

With overheads and general shonky QoS you'd be lucky to push 5.5 - 6.5 once capped. It really is about dial up speed.

346291 2005-04-19 07:56:00 I say remove all caps and speed limitations. Maybe then we can really be like the Jetsons in the Telecom ads.

346292 2005-04-19 10:35:00 id rather be capped instead of being sent a massive bill at the end of the month for extra data charges. Prescott (11)
346293 2005-04-19 10:38:00 Agreed. But I was implying that we all have flatrate.
Or at least some more reasonable caps.

The excess data charges are just an insult.

346294 2005-04-19 10:48:00 Which is why i went for the lower speed with the unlimited data,Pages still open instantly,Online gaming is fine, downloads are much faster then dialup, and they can be left running 24/7. Metla (12)
346295 2005-04-19 11:07:00 Same. But 256k isn't quite Jetson-style broadband. :(

I guess that narks me a bit. Telecom make a big fuss about their speeds being out of this world, yet the restrictive caps make them unusable (although the current 10GB offering beats the crap out of previous jetstream sub-1GB plans) and the only plans that offer any value for money are slow.
