The same quality results can probably be achieved today using a dish that would fit on the roof of your house with heaps of room to spare. They have uplinks as well as down, Billy, and transmitter watts cost money. Bigger dishes give narrower beams, so the power is more effective. ("e.r.p." I have an idea that the crowding in the satellite space would make wide (high power) uplinks extremely unpopular. |
