650237 2008-03-17 19:44:00 What happens if you log out and log back in again?
Login as another user?
Do the windows look normal still when you load them? (Like the borders / Open / Close / Minimize buttons are all there?)

650238 2008-03-17 19:52:00 Still the same.I also tried X and KDE no different.
The windows look normal apart from no taskbar and if I minimise things they just dissapear.
I am going to try updating to KDE 4.0

650239 2008-03-17 22:56:00 I have the same problem, maybe because of a too old videocard.
Try alt f2, metacity --replace, if your titlebars come back, it's compiz's fault.
Or type this in a terminal window, metacity --replace. Can't remember if you need sudo in front of that.

I am going to try updating to KDE 4.0If you're using KDE, hit ALT+F2, type 'kicker' and then hit enter. I strongly recommend you do NOT upgrade to KDE 4.0.x at this stage, as in my opinion it's not nearly ready for everyday use. Stick to 3.5.8.
