| 649885 | 2008-03-16 08:07:00 | Hello members Lately I have a small problem when I want to open my network places. It is just very slow! Win XP PRO SP2 Quite some time ago I had the same issue but was able to fix it but can not remember what I had done. Anyone of you that may came across this problem and able to tell me? Thanks NT |

| 649888 | 2008-03-16 09:35:00 | XP makes automatic shortcuts there every time you 'open a file via a UNC name' You can change that so it doesn't in the registry (back up first as always :)) Navigate to : HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\Explorer\NoRecentDocsNetHood and change the value to 1 --------------------------------------------- And this one is to 'Speed up Network Browsing' Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace Find a key named {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} Right click on it and delete it Reboot after doing any/both of these changes |
