Do you really think mac's are that special that drive manufactors build them especially for mac's.You have to be kidding me. Currently have in my imac as standard hardware a Sony DWU10A, which although old is great burner whuch was avalible in stores for a long time.Originaly only a 4 speed burner but with apple firmware upgrade 8 speed. So edward before you go questioning do your research.
