| 649980 | 2008-03-18 09:09:00 | Because The fsb and multiplyer on my P5B-E motherboard are locked and can not be altered, And I don't know enough to realy try. Why not ask the overclockers forum Jack? I can also add that you already had a serious investment in hardware before you updated to a dual core and then dumped it for a single core. And now you want a Quad? I hope in the FSX Simulator the bridge where you live has disappeared compared to what you had earlier. You may consider getting down to your local airport and having a real flight. Going off to check earlier posts. I may reply later. |

It always used to be the case with MS FS that you were better spending more money on a CPU (and RAM) and getting a lesser graphics card but this is no longer the case. I noticed a vast difference running FSX on a 8800GTX over a 7900GT. But $2300 for a CPU? You could get halfway to a Private Pilots Licence for that! |

| 649982 | 2008-03-18 17:34:00 | Sweep. No reply from O'clockers. Even my M/B manual makes no mention of this. It just says "hilight and use the arrow keys" Deane F. When I learned to fly over 50 years ago it didn't even cost $2300 to get my commercial license. I have since discovered that fsx will not make any use of two of the cores on a quad. I already have an 8800 vid card. And 4 megs of Corsair. With my current cpu I am regularly showing 100% cpu useage. And that is with a very selective start up menu. And AV not loaded. FPS are locked at 24. Game settings are all on max. I am running ORBX addons |
