650054 2008-03-16 23:29:00 A previous thread got me thinking about the need to retain old Java updates etc. In my Add/Remove list I have the following:

JSE Runtime Environment 5.0 Updates 4/6/8/9/10/11

Java(TM) 6 Updates 2/3/5

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

Which of these, if any, can I remove, as they occupy a large amount of disk space?

650055 2008-03-16 23:35:00 All of them except Java(TM) 6 Update 5, the latest version.

You should uninstall all previous versions other than the latest version

Since if the previous have vulnerabilities (even if the latest version is installed), you'll get hit by the vulnerability.

Just be careful that some application has not put one of them on there and is not referring to it via a hard coded path, have been caught out by it myself.
