Yes I think so when I uninstall programs I run ccleaner afterwards and it picks up all sorts of stuff thats been left behind. Also ccleaner does a good job of getting rid of temp stuff too and it's very customizable as to what to remove and what to leave behind. :thumbs: |

| 649756 | 2008-03-16 05:59:00 | In my opinion, the older the PC (well really, the longer the PC has gone since a rebuild) the more worthwhile reg cleaners are. As stated, ccleaner is good, but for mine, you can't go past Registry Mechanic by PC Tools - it can often make a big difference in terms of speed, particularly with under-spec'd PC's. As Gary67 says, you should always back up before running these apps, although Registry Mechanic will set a restore point before removing anything. I'd advise you to only use a reg cleaner that's been recommended on this board too - they're potentially Windows killers if they're not well coded. |
