346624 2005-04-19 08:36:00 This article (www.idm.net.au) quotes a survey of 6,000 IT administrators saying they trust Linux more than Windows when it comes to security in clients (desktops, end users), servers, and also components and libraries. Not only that, but there is also an increasing move into purely free distros such as Debian (City of Munich).

Yeah yeah. Old news. But this is straight from the horses' mouths - the administrators - and not "commentators".

346625 2005-04-19 08:43:00 Gah I just posted this in another thread:

3 server class machines died last week.

2 MS Servers.
1 *nix Server.

2 MS Servers had to be reinstalled from the ground up, the hot swap drives wouldn't take in another platform, OS couldn't take it.

1 *nix server had to have it's hot swap drives pulled out, slammed into another machine and was operating within 10 minutes.
