It had a limited slip diff which helped over rough stuff, and the Skoda engine was simple and basic and easy to work on if needs be. The bores were nitrided steel liners, never wore. The oil filter was a bit micky mouse. From memory the steering gear had complex adjustable shimmed joints so that wear could be taken up. That was about the same time some Kiwi who thought he was being clever made oil filters out of toilet rolls :banana |
