| 1424861 | 2016-09-01 03:06:00 | As for using MS Outlook (the program) you also need to activate the POP3 Setting for @outlook.com email addresses by logging into the address on the web. It is not on by default. That's ONLY if you want to use pop3 for outlook.com. All the ones I've setup with outlook.com accounts, you make an account in Outlook, and enter your full email address Eg: username@outlook.com enter your password, and it does the rest with all settings. |

However… You can “switch” to using IMAP and SMTP. As I mentioned above, Microsoft email accounts continue to support POP3, IMAP and SMTP. Windows Live Mail 2012 also supports POP3, IMAP and SMTP. So we can simply use manual configuration to add the account using IMAP (the closest in functionality to what you have now), and SMTP." |
