1424861 2016-09-01 03:06:00 As for using MS Outlook (the program) you also need to activate the POP3 Setting for @outlook.com email addresses by logging into the address on the web.
It is not on by default. That's ONLY if you want to use pop3 for outlook.com.

All the ones I've setup with outlook.com accounts, you make an account in Outlook, and enter your full email address Eg: username@outlook.com enter your password, and it does the rest with all settings.

"And yes, Windows Live Mail 2012 still works

You can still use Windows Live Mail 2012 to access your Microsoft email account.

By default, Windows Live Mail 2012 uses a private protocol to the Microsoft servers to access your mail. It’s this protocol that allows it to synchronize not only your mail, but your contacts and whatever else as well.

It’s also this private protocol that Microsoft is disabling on June 30th, which is what will cause Windows Live Mail 2012 to stop working for those accounts.

However…

You can “switch” to using IMAP and SMTP. As I mentioned above, Microsoft email accounts continue to support POP3, IMAP and SMTP. Windows Live Mail 2012 also supports POP3, IMAP and SMTP. So we can simply use manual configuration to add the account using IMAP (the closest in functionality to what you have now), and SMTP."

1424863 2016-09-01 06:58:00 I have transferred everything from the Asus to the Toshiba, literally "bit by bit" , using a USB drive. Thank you to all who have offered help & advise. The last thing to do is sort out the email, & yes I am going to get help. Enough already. PJ

1424865 2016-09-07 06:18:00 All I noticed was your email domain or OST file, the part after @ was outtlook.com.ost, seems you set it up incorrectly. Kame (312)
