1424841 2016-08-30 07:13:00 MS made it all too confusing by using the same name for completely different things . More than once.
:-)

outlook(no .com) is an email program, originally the big brother of Outlook Express .
Outlook express is long gone, you will have to use Windows Essentials (WLM) , or perhaps try out Thunderbird .
www.mozilla.org

I prefer the old school look of older email programs, I see they changed the layout of thunderbird as well, glad I stayed with an older version.

Ah... familiar territory. Outlook(no com) Looks like what I want. Can I d/l this without a whole load of other stuff? What I have now appears to be Outlook.co. I looks nothing lik Outlook Express which I diid like very much.

Ps. have had a couple of bad days so sorry to take so lomg answering. PJ

1424842 2016-08-30 07:26:00 Outlook no com is part of MS office and is an email client.

Outlook.com is just MS version of Gmail.

Theres two versions of Office. Office 365 and Office 2016.

365 Is subscription based where 2016 is a one time purchase.

Office 365 - All subscription options are basically the Professional version, contains--- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access

Office 2016, different versions, has different programs, not all have Outlook.

1424846 2016-08-30 09:06:00 I would ignore the Outlook.com for now, it can sit there till you get the other working, Outlook (no com)

To get the Outlook (no com) working you need to install and activate that download you were talking about above.

What is the name of that download first, need to ensure it is the correct one.

1424847 2016-08-30 09:18:00 You also need to make sure you have not already installed it (and activated)

This can be found as I mentioned previously by clicking on the Start Button (bottom left) and then scrolling down to see if you can see any reference to Microsoft Office or Office 365, I am not sure what it actually shows as I dont have Office 365.

I would be inclined to make them all POP3 type accounts with the xtra Account first as he originally requested.
Then the 2 Outlook Accounts can be made POP3 as well rather than Microsoft Exchange type ones.

This is because I think it will be easier for him if the incoming emails from all 3 accounts arrived in the same Inbox.
To do this you have to turn POP3 on using Webmail and then create the 2 Outlook Accounts manually in MS Outlook

Its one half dozen or the other. All the accounts simply line up one above the other in the left hand pane. When creating an account you have the option at the time to make it the default account, or can change it at a later date as I posted for outlook - choice is the owners.

FYI: When you install Office 365 at some point you HAVE to sign into an account on Microsoft site, enter the product key you purchased, and then download a small installer normally about 3MB, that then downloads the remainder of the program. Some computers come with 365 preinstalled, BUT because its subscription based you still have to sign into a MS account.

On Windows 10 when office 365 is installed each application is under its own Letter.

Eg: Access is under A, Word is Under W, Excel is under E, so Outlook is under O

1424850 2016-08-30 10:18:00 I used to have 3 POP3 accounts and found it much easier to have them appear in 1 folder in Outlook 2010
Then I changed 2 over to Microsoft Exchange and removed the third when there were changes made to Outlook Mail fairly recently

I find having 2 addresses in the navigation window a nuisance more especially as I also use favourites, if I was not so lazy I would change them back to POP3 or IMAP, maybe I will soon and just have the 1 .pst folder instead of the current .ost

As for the rest of your reply I understand now how they do it, I was going to download the Office 365 just to see how to install it etc as a trial till they wanted my credit card details... blow that
