1421172 2016-06-01 22:40:00 I wonder how many people wanted Windows 10 (or at least "to stay on the latest version"), but either didn't know how to upgrade to it or were afraid to schedule it themselves and are now glad that the free upgrade was scheduled and run the upgrade.

Not as many as you would think. If someone isnt computer savvy enough to tick/OK that upgrade popup box, they sure as hell wont be able to cope
with a totally new OS .

And that is still not a justification to TRICK users into win10 upgrades.
When MS have to resort to dirty tactics to roll out win10 upgrades, something is very very wrong. Yes its dirty tactics when MS decide that click on the X to close
the popup is deemed to be consent . Honestly , that way of operating (trickery) is getting down to the same level malware , thats the sort of thing malware does : making the X to close the actual install confirmation .

There are so many users unhappy with the way they were tricked into this upgrade. Thats putting MS's rep into the trash for Average users.

Sure Win10 is a good product, but thats not the point . People dont want things forced upon them, when they are 100% happy with the OS they have.

Well, I must say I TOTALLY agree - the underhand act to change the function regarding the close button is one of the worst yet
Tho there has been quite a few others close to it with win10

@nmercer
and I wonder how many DIDN'T want to - but were anyway
....quite a lot by the sound of it
