thanks,
David First you have to be on a local account, Not a email account. To change if on a email, in the search type Account select Manage your account, under Your Account, select switch to local account. It will ask for your current password, enter it, then where it aqsks for new password leave them blank. When it reboots it will boot directly to the desktop.

If you already are on a local account, to remove the password, Again in Account, sign-in options, click on change password, enter current and where you put another again leave them blank.

Theres several ways to remove passwords if in a local account- as described password-user-account-remove-windows-10 (www.tenforums.com)

1424135 2016-08-07 00:31:00 Hi Wainuitech, changed to a local account (without password) disabled antivirus, but still got the same error message when trying to install the update from Windows update. Even rebooted and tried again, no luck. Any other suggestion I could try?

thanks,
David

1424136 2016-08-07 00:40:00 See if it installs if you get it from the windows catalog site (catalog.update.microsoft.com)

It maybe the cumulative update. You have to use IE to get it. I could check it out with teamviewer if you want David. See what maybe stopping it

If you want me to get TV then either run it or install it then give me the ID and pw it gives you in a PM

1424137 2016-08-07 02:30:00 Run Windows update for the past few days, the 'anniversary update' doesn't show up! bk T (215)
1424138 2016-08-07 02:35:00 Get it from the above site. The same thing happened here. The update appeared on this, but didnt on the other PC.

Decided to get the ISO and did a clean install on both of them.

So far, the update fixed the wireless drivers on this.

But broke speccy (it shows the wrong temp in the Anniversary version - Piriform know about this now). Samsung Magician also broke.

They don't roll it out to everybody at once, probably to save the servers overloading.

That's what I was wondering. I read some are having trouble with it so i wouldn't be in a hurry.

1424141 2016-08-07 04:38:00 Tried the manual method, downloaded and installed; took about an hour to complete.

Can I still disable the automatic update?
