When any company states 'for life', the BS alarm should be ringing :) Many 'for life' products and services werent Companies are never held accountable for claiming 'for life' when selling, then dropping support a few years later & killing off the product & any related services. Also look at the fine print . Terms and conditions might be changed at their discretion ? They may eventually want to drop email support, so the email server gets old ,decrepit & unreliable while the ISP does nothing hoping that it just goes away (this has happened in NZ) Who's to say that if you leave Orcon & close the a/c, they might just recycle that email adress & make it available to others, they way they do with ph numbers What happens when Orcon gets sold/merged ? What happens if they sell/give all the email a/cs to Yahoo (just like telecom did) Want 'for life', better off with gmail. No guarantee that will allways be free though . |
