1421188 2016-06-12 19:37:00 Watched episode 2 last night it was mostly quite good. If they could just get rid of the 3 year old presenter with ginger hair it would almost be very good. I do find though that having to bring in a whole heap of celebs to pad out the program a bit weird.

Like or loathe the old presenters they did actually give facts and reviews of the cars tested even if those views were biased. on last nights show hardly a single word was said about the cars baing driven in Africa.

So in conclusion better but still a long way to go.

1421189 2016-06-12 22:42:00 Ive started watching the TopGear US again.

US version is not that bad anymore, no longer a clone of the UK version . As with everything , TG US have some boring programs & some really enjoyable .
Lots of US V8 cars & often comparisons to Euro sports cars .

1421190 2016-06-12 22:59:00 Last time I looked on Prime Top Gear US was still doing series 2 repeats but in the US they're up to to series 8.. paulw (1826)
1421191 2016-06-13 22:29:00 episode 3 : its a huuuge improvement. This one I could watch all the way through.

Evans has calmed down, Leblanc seems to be doing more of the presenter role (no one likes Evans)
They have other presenters doing car test drives .

And its now about the cars again :)

1421192 2016-06-13 23:28:00 meh, went off it ages ago....bunch of children acting like twits mostly. I care not whether this is the old lot or the new lot.
May and Hammond have done some far more interesting programs on TV.

x2

Watched MAY the other night on "old makes of cars" and he has done some other good programs.

1421193 2016-06-14 01:30:00 Jay Leno's garage and fully charged are a couple of good shows on YouTube. plod (107)
1421194 2016-06-14 03:15:00 If you're into cars and watch car shows to see serious reviews then you might always have enjoyed all the more serious shows better. What made Top Gear different was it's appeal to those people who find regular car shows dull and don't watch them. If it suits your sense of Humour it provides some good entertainment even if you don't care about the cars. That's the thing they need to try and recapture to keep the audience they had with the previous presenters. I often watched top gear but I never watched any other car themed shows.

It silly to think those 3 Idiots are the only presenters on the planet that can put on an entertaining show, it remains to be seen if the new line up can match the old and get past the negative effect of replacing popular presenters. If they turn into a straight motoring show they'll gain some viewers and lose a lot of others, myself included. If they don't try to emulate other people and find a way to be entertaining in their own style I may keep watching.

1421195 2016-06-14 05:22:00 Can't stand Evans! Le Blanc could be very good if given a chance, after all he has been a comedian for many years and is a very good driver. If you want to look at an informative car program have a look at 5th Gear. Both James May & Richard Hammond have produced brilliant documentary's, and Jeremy Clarkson writes very amusing books, so Top Gear was really not all that important to them. mzee (3324)
1421196 2016-06-14 06:33:00 Nothing will ever beat the chemistry between May,Clarkson and Hammond. The pranking they did to each other was amazing I doubt it could be scripted.Evans and Le Blanc are gay. prefect (6291)

I'd say mostly watchable. I can't stand the new format of the start in the reasonably priced car. There's just so much waffle and it takes up a 3rd of the show.

The Ken Block segment was awesome though.
