651190 2008-03-21 02:36:00 I see there is a new version of AVG available (8.0).
Has anyone downloaded/Installed/Tried it yet?

651191 2008-03-21 03:16:00 Yes - there was a thread last week, seemed to be a good idea to download Avast instead. pctek (84)
651192 2008-03-21 06:21:00 Any idea what the thread was called? I did a search on AVG 8.0 and a few variations with no matches, and I've looked back to 7/3/08 but don't see any threads that jump out as on the subject.
Thanks.

If you have Anti Malware it's worth upgrading, as Version 8 is slightly lighter that 7.5.

DON'T install all the security toolbar crap.

651198 2008-03-21 20:49:00 Thanks everyone. I hadn't gone back as far as the 5th, only a couple of weeks, and searching for AVG 8.0 hadn't brought up any matches.
I hadn't gone to the AVG web site, so hadn't realized that 8.0 was a paid version. I'll stick to the 7.5 freebie for now, or maybe switch to Avast, although I haven't had any issue with AVG.
