651154 2008-03-20 22:01:00 Are the fans in the case spinning, when you turn it on??

300W sounds a bit low

What version of Windows is on it?

This is an ASUS A7VL-VM mobo isnt it?? Is this etched on the motherboard?

651155 2008-03-20 22:04:00 Yes fans are spinning ,motherboard led is on , Windows xp Home sp2 Alexhughes79 (6949)
651156 2008-03-20 22:05:00 turned it off to add 64mb more ram

RAM is probably faulty or incompatible.

Does it work if this new stick of RAM is removed?

651157 2008-03-20 22:07:00 Hmm youre pushing it a bit with only 128 MB ram.

Running XP

I think Ive got the right manual, just checking it out

651158 2008-03-20 22:12:00 Na, I had a 128mb stick then added 64mbstick and now dos'nt go Alexhughes79 (6949)
651159 2008-03-20 22:19:00 If you've got the mobo I posted, according to the manual

Do any of these apply (to the kind of ram you installed) ?

651160 2008-03-20 22:36:00 no, I tried using other sticks and it dosn't work with the other sticks , but on the mobo it has a jumper saying 100mhz or 133mhz and thats next to the dimm slots Alexhughes79 (6949)
651161 2008-03-20 22:48:00 Have you got the manual??

If you havent, I would direct link, download it (dlsvr01.asus.com)

To make sure, the jumpers are on their default settings. Thats if this is the mobo

If you take out the stick of RAM that you just put in does the the computer boot?
