651078 2008-03-20 09:42:00 Okay, its a long story, lets start at the most important stuff. I lost the file PRO11.MSI then I downloaded full file MSOffice SP2. I installed it. It said ''cannot install update''. I uninstalled MSOffice SP2. I tried to install MSOffice again. It said '' Can't find the file you were supposed to have''. I restored MSOffice using System Restore. Now, when I tried to install it, it said ''cannot install update''. Now I tried to open MSOffice it says its missing the file 'MSXML5.MSP'. What do I do now?   mathsgood (13356)
651079 2008-03-20 09:48:00 System restore is the most unreliable backup program I have even seen. Even the Vista one only works 80% of the time. Uninstall Office, run CCleaner, and then reinstall office. See if that helps. SPARTAN 860 (2618)

Go to add/remove programs (or Programs and Features) and remove it, then reboot, chuck the disk in and reinstall...not too hard?

Hum, whoops. I answered that particular question without looking at his original post...time to put the beer AWAY and step AWAY from the computer methinks.

Now Office may have been on your computer before but do you have an Office 2003 CD?

Possibly you have a brand name computer with restore disks and a hidden partition.
