| 651016 | 2008-03-20 04:55:00 | i have been using kaspersky internet security for about a fortnight now.one of my issues is when the popup comes up with (riskware, invader or integrity control etc).now as a beginner im becoming spooked by these warnings and im unsure how to deal with them, like allow or disallow.programs are ok cos i know what ive installed, like games and stuff, when it goes into the system i dont know what to do.why cant it be easy like avg and zonealarm.reading on the forum ive heard nod32 is good,is it just as complicated? | sk69ersnz (13476) | ||

| 651023 | 2008-03-20 19:24:00 | but im to paranoid to disallow files in the system cos important components will stop working am i correct?like oleaccrc.dll Active Accessibility Resource DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\etc.i just hope to god they are not a virus and allow them.so far ive allowed pretty much everything from system32,hope thats ok.pc is running ok so far,no major crashes but sometimes starts up with no icons.thing is it hasnt picked up any viruses yet but when i had avg i had a few,is something not working properly?sorry for being paranoid but its been infected a couple of times since ive owned it but has been repaired. | sk69ersnz (13476) | ||
| 651024 | 2008-03-21 05:23:00 | To be honest, a lot of what to allow/disallow is common sense - if you're installing software and you asked to allow a process, it's probably going to be ok to do so. Conversely, if you're browsing the net, and happen to visit a warez site, and suddenly get asked to allow a process, and you're not installing anything yourself, it's probably bad!! If there's any processes you're unsure on, google them, or post something on here - guys like Wainuitech and Speedy are pretty clued up on what's dodgy and what's legit |
