| 650626 | 2008-03-18 22:07:00 | Windows XP home MS Office 97 - when opening any office document (word, excel) it would act like it was linked to other documents - although it wasn't - error would come up Word cannot open the document... and - The document name or path is not valid... after ok through the errors the document would open! or - error C:\Documents.xls could not be found.... - the computer would go through 4 other documents it "couldn't find" and then open the requested document. Once gone through the above errors and the document was left open and further documents opened just fine, but if there are no office documents open all the errors reappear. What I have done: un-installed, reinstalled MS office windows repair install Results: after the windows repair install opening any office document acts like it has tried to open twice, getting the error you already have a copy of this document open, do you want to open another? Canceling through this then opens the requested document. Any insights as to why this has happened? and or How can this be corrected? |
