349511 2005-04-27 23:24:00 How come there's nothing on TV for people who liike comps.? There's sports, fishing, motor racing, gardening, foodie programs, DIY building, fashion, antiques, farming & horticulture, business & investing, perving at the rich & famous, rock music, classical and rap, Xtreme everything, kid's programs andeven Coro! But there's no progs about comps or IT generally or the internet. Ok there's the odd one-off like the internet banking doco but nothing regular. CSI and are few others use a lot of hi-tech stuff but it's all about flash and shazam, nothing nitty gritty. Last night's CSI had a 3D scanner/builder. Like wow read about that in New Scientist last century. There was that UK series "Attachments" but is was more abouit gossip and getting off than IT. And "Beam me up, Scotty" is well gone.

I want a prog about say IT forensics, or cybercrime, hacker-terrorists, whatever, as long as it incolves lots of IT and MAKES SENSE.

349513 2005-04-27 23:53:00 Us who have telstra cable tv, used to get the tech tv channel based in the states, until comcast took it apart. Currently being reconfigured and broadcast in Canada and Australia.

Sky doesn't get it, dammit. They had a survey of Living Channel a while ago. How biased. There were tons of tick boxes for things you liked and 2 for things you didn't. So I added in comments something like that should be included. They mailed back that "everyone likes the current offerings". Hah. Its just an animated WOmens Weekly.
Gamer TV isn't bad but tends to conecentrate manily on consoles.

349515 2005-04-28 00:01:00 Yeah that was the only difference between cable and sky, Although my wife likes it now it has been taken off the air. Just 24 hours ful teh stuff plod (107)
349516 2005-04-28 00:05:00 Yes I didn't mean gaming because gamers don't need a TV except to run games on. I mean an entertaining and even instructive prog. "Attachments" came somewhere near it, like the moon is to the earth, but still fell into the gossipy/wiseacre style than IT content. I suspect the producers feared alienating people by making it too 'geeky'.

Darn it. I want it geeky!

349517 2005-04-28 00:16:00 English program called Gadgets was on the other night, they covered a lot of computer topics, and gear related to computers.

It was a bit lightweight and smarmy but meh....worth watching, I wouldn't stay up for it though.

Think it was on late Sunday night before the Formula1(which is worth staying up for)
