348906 2005-04-26 06:49:00 I recieved today, 10 copies of Ubuntu linux, all the way from the US of A.

But it seems I have been sent the Intel x86 version instead of AMD64.

So, I have 9 cd's to give away (1 taken already).

You can of course request your own copies, but this may take a while. I ordered mine 2mths+ ago.

It has a 'live' cd so you can try it before you install it.

If anyone would like a copy, i'll send me a stamped self-addressed envelope (I'd rather not pay for postage) and i'll send you a copy. The CD packet is 145mm(l) x 5mm(w) x 125mm(h), so you will need an envelope big enough to accomodate this.

For my details email me at matthewschofield2001 ~at~ hotmail ~dot~ com.

348907 2005-04-26 06:52:00 Why not donate them to various places like internet cafes/comp shops so they can copy and redistribute? Edward (31)

348911 2005-04-26 07:32:00 Have just got my 10 copies today. Took that long I forgot all about them and the postage was from Netherlands so wife was very suspicious, (so was I).
Cautiously opened and was nicely surprised to find 10 well packaged CD's.
I am going to distribute them at work.

Must say the Live CD works well, nice way to entice install. I am actually posting from it now, 5 minutes after putting it in machine, no setup required via adsl router. Will be interesting to see if it recognises the other hardware connected.

I am in Hamilton so if anyone is interested let me know.

You aren't missing much I've just installed the latest version and i have to say the previous version was a lot better, the latest release has some pretty major sound issues (for me at least), whereas the previous version ran beautifully, aprt from a few cock-ups of my own doing
