348383 2005-04-25 04:33:00 Well, the best solution is get rid away your computer. You don't have spend time and money to protect it or getting overcharged telephone bills because of unwanted diallers. :D Renmoo (66)

348385 2005-04-25 05:36:00 Some people ask for it. I just did a reinstall on a PC today, installed a firewall, antivirus and antispyware. Explained it all to the owner, told him to run the checkers every day, he sat and watched TV the whole time I was explaining. He bought his $3000 PC 2 years ago to look at porn. Thats it.
Told him he'd be better off with a magazine.

348388 2005-04-25 05:45:00 I have a dialler here that I cannot get rid of (well, cheaply anyway ;) ) . It keeps ringing my sister in law in Auckland, friends in Wellington, and others all over the world, which ties the phone up for hours at a time and Telecom charge me for this !!!11!

I have been informed by Telecom that I must take my own precautions to minimise or stop these calls, however, try as I might the missus won't stop .

Surely Telecom should look into this for me too if they are crediting other's costs for computer diallers??

:help:

Almost be cheaper to use a cell phone if you got one with free minutes on it

Well, I e-mailed Telecom about your problem and they suggested getting rid of your phone lines and installing an extension on your house instead . That way, the whole family can be within walking distance!

Quite Frankly, I think that's a damn good idea .

I would complain if telecom told me to do that, have you seen the cost of building lately?

348392 2005-04-25 10:23:00 Some comments seem to fly right over heads around here lol.

My point was as the phone line subscriber I am responsible for the use of that line, that extends to peripherals connected to that line, mechanical or human :D

I quite like Aurealis' suggestion though......
