| 651174 | 2008-03-22 06:30:00 | Should I get 512mb ram for vista | Alexhughes79 (6949) | ||
| 651175 | 2008-03-22 07:31:00 | 512MB is the bare minimum for running Vista. It's the equivalent of running XP on 64MB ram. Slow as. Get at least 2GB (2048MB) for Vista, as well as a decent graphics card (at least 128MB memory on it) If you haven't got those specs, or money to upgrade, stick with XP. it's much faster and less of a system hog, and will run on almost anything from about 2000 onwards. |

| 651178 | 2008-03-22 18:07:00 | Hi, About vista would vista Home basic lag on 512mb ram, 1ghz athlon , 20gb hdd, | Alexhughes79 (6949) | ||
| 651179 | 2008-03-22 19:49:00 | Hi, About vista would vista Home basic lag on 512mb ram, 1ghz athlon , 20gb hdd, Yes. Maybe beyond usability :p Consider the minimum specs for RUNNING (not using!) Vista Basic: 800MHz Pentium III or above 512MB RAM or above 20GB HD space or above 32MB graphics card MS say to run Vista well you need: 1000MHz Pentium III or above (I recommend at least 1500MHz) 1024MB RAM or above (I recommend at least 1.5GB) 40GB HD space or above (I recommend at least 80GB) 128MB graphics card for Aero So save some dough and headaches and stick with XP for as long as you can. It will run much better than Vista on any platform (well, probably ;) ) |
