| 349630 | 2005-04-28 13:42:00 | Three Problems with this thread and the general idea. 1) Most spyware and malware is manufactured by companies and data-miners in America which the NZ Government has no jurisdiction over. Therefore anything sent to the NZ Government would have very little effect. Well, why not send it to the US government? Because they don't give a damn what the rest of the world thinks. Some evidence: ---> War on Iraq ---> Oil Usage and Stocks ---> Kyoto Protocol 2) 50 Million downloads (rough estimate) of anti-spyware software is the only petition needed. The fact is that most Microsoft products still have extensive security holes which allow these programs to propagate. 3) Everyone is a bit snappy. Some nice hot spyware would sort you all out. How about dropping our weapons and instead fortifying our castle (a.k.a. PC)? Z. |
