| 651264 | 2008-03-21 03:26:00 | :help: Some emails I receive which should have a picture or photo attched just show as an empty square except for a small box with a red cross in the L H top corner. Is there a way of getting the pictures to show?. Any info will be greatfully received :thanks |

Outlook express, Outlook, Windows Mail ( vista)? one reason can be the security - this is for Outlook Express: click on Tools>Options>Security, and unchecking "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus." You also need to have "Block images and other external content in HTML email" unchecked. Also look at the top of the Email to see if there is a bar that says ( words to the effect of) Click to Download / Allow pictures |

The images in those emails are hotlinked to a server, therefore you must be connected to the internet to view them from the server they are hosted on. If you are just downloading your emails via a dial up connection and it disconnects you after you have downloaded, you will need to reestablish a connection to view the images. |
