| 651292 | 2008-03-22 02:08:00 | Can you elaborate further with this comment? I will try. In Germany exists schemes, for online investigations on private computers for the fight against the international terrorism a.s.o. For this investigations they need a trojan, the so-called Bundestrojaner (federal trojan). Now many people think about how the gouvernment will spread this trojan. E-Mails would be a little bit conspicuous. Now everyone can read in different newsletter that Kaspersky Labs cooperate with the BKA. That's fuel speculations.;) |

| 651294 | 2008-03-22 02:54:00 | Right now, i use McAfee Anti-Virus. it was OEMed by Dell, and its a 15 month licence. I expected it to be a absolute resource hog but its only taking up 8384 kb of my memory! Can someone please give me the numbers for (urg) norton anti virus and nod? I would like to see how much they take. Norton is by far the worse resource hog, but I want to see how much of one :) | SPARTAN 860 (2618) | ||

Best to have two, one resident and non resident like most people recommend to have two anitspyware progs. |

| 651297 | 2008-03-22 03:56:00 | Just installed the trial of ESS and am liking what I see so far. Is there any limitations to the trial apart from there 30days? What is a 1year licence worth for 1 computer? | Deluxe (13521) | ||
| 651298 | 2008-03-22 04:02:00 | Thanks for the input guys, I will most likely download both trials and try them out myself. Nod32 seems to get good reviews in general but from my research the eset smart security seems way down on the list compared to KIS. Spyware: Spyware Doctor and Counterspy, should I run these two ? Turn windows defender off or leave it on? Any other good programs? Well, no. NOD32 is good, its bundled spyware app isn't as good. The all-in-ones never are. I have: NOD32 Counterspy Spybot Spyware Dr Superantipsyware Ghost Security Suite (Nothing to do with Ghost by Symantec) Zone Alarm Pro 4.0 |

| 651299 | 2008-03-22 04:23:00 | Will also read your thread pressf1.pcworld.co.nz do you have any other suggested settings for ESS? So at this stage it looks like I will run Eset Smart Security Browse with firefox Spyware Doctor combined with another one or two when I make up my mind Seem a good combination? Should I keep running windows defender or turn it off completely? And turn off the windows firewall just leaving eset on? I am pretty sure the firewall in ESS will be sufficient for me aslong as I can configure it to work well with DC++ (havent had time to try yet will post new topic if I have troubles) Let me know if I am on the right track otherwise thanks for the help guys. |

QUOTE] Thanks I kind of new that from the reviews, figure it shouldnt be a problem since I will be running 2-3 other spyware programs. Just another question since I dont use windows mail, is there any advantage in turning off the anti spam and email scanning? I just log onto the orcon site to check my mail. |
