2005-05-01 06:56:00 | I think DSE is fine for things like blank media, cables, NIC cards and other knick-knacks where a generic product is fine. It is convenient to have most of that stuff under one roof and close by. I wouldn't buy a desktop computer system from them, saying that, I wouldn't buy a desktop from anyone as I would just build it myself :p. Their website is quick and easy to compare prices with and see what's available. They also support Linux and provide drivers or links to them where it is stated that the hardware is Linux friendly. Not many places go that extra mile and do this. :) | Jen (38) | |
2005-05-01 07:01:00 | Their website is great (Ordered something today as a matter of fact) and if you are VIP member you get discounts :D | Dannz (1668) | |
2005-05-01 07:14:00 | ive purchased a pc from dse, i saw it on the net and i went to town and got it. wasnt too bad of a deal. i buy from there because it is mostly the cheapest in invercargill, the other pc shops are a rip, and i am now noticing that DSE are getting a tad pricey too. i might start looking at getting my pc gear from shops like ascent, but im not too keen on purchasing on the internet, do they send out an invoice instead of you using a credit card? | Prescott (11) | |
2005-05-01 07:27:00 | DSE are wonderful *huge range of products *frequent special offers *good warranties *good return policy *easy to find a nearby store *As mentioned, their excellent website *considering their enormous range, the staff are pretty knowledgable And personally I've never had a problem with anything I've bought there. I wouldn't use them for a computer or major component of course, but almost anything else.

2005-05-01 07:50:00 | I purchase cables and crap from em when Im in a hurry, prices on such items are a disgrace though.$25 for a cable that I know has a wholesale price of $1.50. Any other purchases I have made through them (the phone in my shop for example) was because I was able to look through their range on the DSE site. Wouldn't touch any of their DSE rebranded gear, Would feel dirty owning a cyber-drive....

They have various payment methods and of course you get an invoice. However they won't ship BEFORE you pay, only after. But they are very trustworthy. As for DSE I don't really buy much at all there. PC related - blank CDs. Apart form that I bought a phone once. House phone not mobile. |

2005-05-01 07:57:00 | Generic stuff there is often cheaper or better quality than many other shops. The staff are generally willing but havent clue but if u know what you want it isn't a problem. Lots of good digital camera specials. A great place to pick up something when you are desperate on a sunday. The website is well laid out and an excellent reference tool. See something of recent manafacture on trademe or pricespy and chances are dse will have a listing for it or something similar.Often have unique products first Mate bought a dse brande Car headunit mp3 cd player/sd card player/ and reads any flash drive for mp3s. Sounds fine reads anything cheap. Oh yeah one of the best places at returning and exchanging/refunding items around

2005-05-01 08:17:00 | I buy from DSE if the price is right . They are open 7 days . Their website is quick and easy to navigate . They also sell many other types of equipment, not just PC gear . The staff here in Tauranga and The Mount are good . This cannot be said with other Tauranga computer stores . (Go on, try getting a smile out of the woman at Tga Computers!!) Their attitude in swapping equipment due to problems is wonderful, even if you cannot definitely pinpoint the equipment as the fault they are happy to let you swap it for another to check it out . Nuff said . :)
