| 350160 | 2005-04-29 07:18:00 | I bought Windows 2000 Professional, even though Windows XP Professional was already out. I am still not convinced as to the "true" security benefits of Windows XP. However, I have sucumbed to it at Work as my laptop uses a processor that takes advantage of it. Answer: No Same here. Windows 2000 is excellent as is. I don't think I'll shift to the Longhorn platform. It's been suggested that it will require 1GB of RAM. What kind of OS needs that? One with flaky graphical features that hide the real problems. Whinge Whinge Whinge, Moan Moan Moan. |

| 350163 | 2005-04-29 08:29:00 | I had an "exploded" Windows 98se computer. My dad was thinking of upgrading it to Xp, but I said the computer is too lousy for it. It has only 64MB RAM with 12.08GB of space. After a few years of using it, something "exploded" inside it and there goes all my files. Just few months before it ended its life, I suggest to my dad that I transfer all the files inside it to his laptop through direct-cable-connection via parallel cable, but he doesn't care about that. I sold the memory and FDD to someone, threw the rest of the component into some rubbish bin. At that time, I was pretty hardware-illiterate and didn't know that the motherboard might worth some penny. Cheers :) |

Too much of a 'designer' OS. |

| 350168 | 2005-04-29 09:03:00 | arent we picky today :illogical :rolleyes:Yes. I am in a stirring-the-pot mood today. :D Sorry that it had to be you because you are not the only one who gets that wrong but it is one of my pet hates. Fortunately you are young enough to correct your mistake now before it becomes too much of a habit. :) |
