652011 2008-03-23 08:52:00 Frequency is no longer king, since many superpowerful quad cores only have 2.93Ghz per core, are you looking or dual core or quad? (or even SIX cores?) SPARTAN 860 (2618)
652012 2008-03-23 08:54:00 i would settle for single core, preferable dual though helpless random (11788)
652013 2008-03-23 08:56:00 I think single-core processors are pretty much obsolete now.

IMHO I think the best processor is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (quad core - 4 x 2.4GHz)

652014 2008-03-23 08:58:00 yeah but would it fit into an AMD motherboard and be compatable with it? helpless random (11788)
652015 2008-03-23 09:00:00 Not correct, I'd know if I had the best.

here is the best

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 running at 3GHz per core

652017 2008-03-23 09:02:00 No - Intel and AMD procs/mobos aren't compatible. AMD does make dual-cores though (don't know about quads). jwil1 (65)
652018 2008-03-23 09:03:00 No.

652019 2008-03-23 09:03:00 AMD Quads do exists, but they aren't good at all, lots of bugs SPARTAN 860 (2618)
