651395 2008-03-21 20:35:00 Hi all,

On the advice of a couple of great PC World reviews, I recently picked up a Panasonic AE2000 Projector and a Philips HTS8100/59 Soundbar.

I've had it all professionally installed and it's a nice wee combo.

We're having problems playing DVDs with the Soundbar though, and I'm wondering if anyone else is having similar issues.

When playing DVDs, a way into the movie we notice the lip sync problem - the audio and video are out of sync (video is behind). The Philips does have an "Audio Sync" feature, but a quick fix appears to be to move to the next or previous title on the DVD, and things are back in sync again.

Not the type of thing you want to have to do when you're trying to sit back and enjoy a movie - I've found myself already concentrating on finding when the movie will go out of sync!!

The setup is:

- SKY Decoder Component & Soundbar Component output into Component Switcher
- Component Switcher with a 10m (or so) run into Projector

I've also tried the Soundbar directly into the Projector, bypassing the Switcher, but that makes no difference.

Also, there is NO sync issue when watching TV through this setup - the SKY audio is traversing the same cable to the projector with no lag.

I've also run some quick testing with the composite output to a TV which doesn't seem to have the lag issue. There is a microsecond difference between the composite and component (slightly slower) when running them both at the same time - but it seems that the composite is getting progressively more delayed.

Anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks!

Definitely had issues with the first few DVDs we watched, though.
