| 652873 | 2008-03-26 02:40:00 | Recently I cleared out all the Java dross from my computer which was showing up in the Add/Remove Programs folder in Control Panel. This gave me back a lot of disk space. In the same place I notice a huge number of 'Hotfixes' and various Microsoft 'Updates'. Do these need to remain to be active, or have they now effected the necessary changes to other files and can be removed? |

You get things like patches to change the clock to the new daylight savings dates, security patches, updates for software etc. Untick "show updates" at the top of the add/remove programs window so you don't have to look at them. |
