2008-03-26 01:54:00 | I have Vista Ultimate and it works perfectly. The only thing that irks me is that it slows after being left on for 3 or 4 days. By slow I mean its like walking thru treacle. If I restart it it clears itself and runs fine. I often put it into sleep mode (recently switched in the Bios to S3 mode but seems to have no affect on the slowing) but cant see this as a cause. I could turn it off each day but with the quick restart offered by sleep mode is convenient. Has anyone had similar experiences. I have GIGA-BYTE GA-M51GM-S2G board with 4200+ AMD twin core CPU 2G of Memory

2008-03-26 01:57:00 | Is it updated, or is SP1 installed? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2008-03-26 02:00:00 | Hi Speedy I just have updater running so its up to date but I believe SP1 is not distributed till next month so It wont be updated to SP1 yet.

2008-03-26 02:09:00 | I'm pretty sure SP1 is out already. Its here - x64 bit (www.microsoft.com) And here - 32 bit (www.microsoft.com) You maybe thinking of XP SP3, which is due out next month now (Some sites said SP3 was due to be released Monday this week). And as it says here (blogs.nzherald.co.nz) Altho, as it says, a few people have had probs with it You may not see anything, if any of your drivers arent compatible.

2008-03-26 03:11:00 | Vista SP1 is still having some bugs ironed out if you have faulty drivers, so do not install the standalone if it doesn't show up on Windows Update. Leaving the PC on is bad for both the PC and the enviroment, so I recommend turning it off for the night. :D

2008-03-26 03:15:00 | I've got the exact same problem as you and even after installing SP1 a week ago it still hasn't solved the problem. | Username1 (13539) | |
2008-03-26 03:20:00 | You are probably running out of ram for the OS, thats why rebooting helps, it clears it. | SPARTAN 860 (2618) | |
2008-03-26 03:40:00 | You mean if I add more memory it will go for longer before slowing? | nmcelwee (5713) | |
2008-03-26 04:06:00 | Add up to 8 gb at 64 bit, and it won't ever slow. You need to reach the magic number (4Gb for 32 bit it will only recognise 3.24Gb though, 8Gb for 64 bit) | SPARTAN 860 (2618) | |
2008-03-26 06:19:00 | Why not turn it off at night and help save the environment, unless it's a server. | gary67 (56) | |
