652162 2008-03-23 21:43:00 I haven't defragged my hard drives in ages so thought I had better get it done. What would the best (preferably freeware) defragging software be out there besides the one for XP?
I have tried O & O Defragger (Trial version) that everyone seems to rave about.
However when I do run a defrag using this program for some reason it gets so far and then the PC shuts down and restarts.
I have had the same thing happen in the past using the defrag program from System Mechanic.
Any ideas?

652167 2008-03-23 22:10:00 I sometimes use the versatile JKdefrag (www.kessels.com), which works quick and effectively. Can be used with screen saver, some personal reviews here (www.snapfiles.com)... kahawai chaser (3545)

652169 2008-03-24 03:08:00 Diskeeper is one of the best out there. Works great with XP and Vista. It will replace the inbuilt Windows Defragmenter. beeswax34 (63)
