653052 2008-03-28 23:02:00 Thanks Speedy,
nearly all of the red X's pertain to that superantispy- which I don't have installed - and had to do a reg search to be able to delete itbut they are showing on this mornings start cock up details in systems /event viewer- perhaps that is the problem after all

Will have to wait until tomorrow morning and see what happens
Thanks again, I will be intouch either way tomorrow P M

653053 2008-03-28 23:07:00 Go back to application and system, right mouse on them on the left and select clear all events.

That way if something happens again there wont be so many entries

653054 2008-03-28 23:39:00 Hi,
Very sound idea- there sure are a lot of red X' s and exclamation marks to put it mildly
Thanks
See you tomorrow- as usual I have no problem restarting since this first one----- we HAVE to wait the 24 hours

653055 2008-03-29 19:47:00 Hi Speedy,
As usual this computer started up this morning >recycled ( even though ticked to stop that ) and after six attempts finally completed.
I ran the event viewer and in "system" found this red X .
In "application" were one or two exclamation marks(warnings) but no red X's.
When I double click on the red x in Systems-it comes up with a "possibly corrupted file" in the start up - called SUSKUTIL - in uppercase letters and on going to the address included, says "driver may be corrupted"
how do I get those drivers and install them?
I had no trouble re booting all day yesterday- it takes over night to get to this now constant error
I will be away until about 11.30 am

653056 2008-03-29 21:08:00 Find that file (SASKUTIL.sys), then delete it.

You did uninstall Superantispyware right??

Dont reinstall it, leave it uninstalled

If you've got ccleaner go to startup and see if an entry for Superantispyware is there. If it is delete it

653057 2008-03-30 00:44:00 Hi Speedy,
I searched using Ccleaner for a general search- there is no window which specifies what file to look for
I ran regseeker with that SUSKUTIL.sys and found one entry which I deleted

Then I did a manual regedit and found no SUSKUIL.sys--BUT a lot of entries i e TPCcom CLSID (1) does this mean any entry with a 1 is duplicated- -

looking at the next step the one without the 1 had the same entries as the one without a 1- does that mean I can delete all the 1 's ?

When I ran regseeker /start up , I found green icons in there which according to regedit bumf if they are green they can be deleted

653058 2008-03-30 00:56:00 Open my computer go to tools / folder options. / view.

Change it to show hidden files and folders,. And untick hide protected system files

Then (start/search). Search for SASKUTIL.sys then delete it

It must be there somewhere if its appearing in event viewer.

Thats if you uninstalled the program (you didnt just delete the SuperAntispyware folder did you (without uninstalling it first)?

Then check startup in ccleaner again, if theres any entry for Superantispyware there delete it

Dont worry about the registry, if u delete the wrong thing u can kill windows

653059 2008-03-30 02:31:00 Hi,
Right, that is done- I did not see "protected file systems",but saw "show all files"
Ran a computer search for SUSKUTIL after I did yet another "regedit"search and a CCleaner also --nothing .

I do not remember specifically installing superantispyware but as at least one of those red X boxes used the word - as you say it had to be there.

The only SUSKUTIL file found today was using a SUSKUTIL.Sys search in "windows search", logically I got that this morning and deleted it, but as usual will have to wait the overnight start up that causes the trouble------it DOES NOT cause any trouble when used many times during the day i e either restart or switch off and restart 10 minutes later

Thanks Speedy, at the risk of being /headbutting senile all that is left would be to reinstall the so called corrupted drivers- if so then what can you advise me to do
Will be in touch tomorrow about 8.30 am

653060 2008-03-30 02:41:00 Hide protected system OS files is 2 below show hidden files and folders.

I think you have to untick this option, since this file is a system file.

You wont see it if you do a search while this is ticked

NO DONT reinstall Superantispware, thats why we're trying to remove it.

You dont need it anyway
