353540 2005-05-16 04:28:00 or is it the numbsculls sending the gear not not considering what they are sending and therefore not using the appropriate contractor?

its the same gear thats been transported for years without any problems. they have tried a trucking firm but gear went missing and i still had to drive into town to pick it up.

i wonder if its all due to rural delivery not taking responsibilty for missing parcels (which is why one firm will not send stock out to rural addresses).

353541 2005-05-16 04:46:00 HotKiwi - What a mess!!! It irks me, as surely others here on PF1.

What is the Dell 0800 ph number that you are using?
Post it here. I will ring them and ask to speak to the supervisor. Others here on PF1 may do the same. There is power in numbers.

We also need a fax number or an email address. HotKiwi, can you ask Dell for this info (say you need to pass on detailed information to the supervisor) - be sure to get the supervisor's name, or at the very least, the customer service person's name. Post it here (or send to me via email - I will send you a note). We need to tell them that this matter will not go away and is known by many, not just yourself.

How about ringing Consumer's Institute? Even if there is a charge for the call, it would be worth it.

HotKiwi, have you spoken with the manager at PBT? Did you get their name?

Before the police, try a lawyer - remember that they will not charge for a 15-20 minute initial conversation.

Write a "letter to the editor" of PCWorld magazine. Often we see such letters of complaints - and they always get a response from the company at fault.

353542 2005-05-16 04:47:00 It doesn't surprise me that PBT are behind it, they are terrible. I have posted my disappointment with them previously.

What does it take to get decent delivery service in NZ?

353543 2005-05-16 05:06:00 Get onto Fair Go with your problem ... get as much TV mileage as you can and expose Dell, PBT Couriers and anyone else involved with as much bad publicity as you can muster. :angry These people need exposing! :angry Cptn Hotshot (3904)

353545 2005-05-17 00:43:00 Surprise !!!!
Dell woke up, now 15 days after the parcel was lost. Got this email
Doesn't help me much though.............................

i sent a letter to PCWorld, hope that they will publish it, but chances are slim, Dell is one of their prime advertisers

MWD is going to call me what they think to do....... but when...... still in this lifespan ???

Hi Johan,
Good Morning..

According to our forwarder, they are not able to source the POD from the local courier and this has been escalated to our MWD ( Missing, Wrong and Damage ) team for further investigation and resolution. Kindly allow them to investigate into this for you and if the order is lost, we will actually organize a replacement order for you.

For the purpose of documenting our conversation and this issue, your case has been assigned with the case no# 1136364. You may provide us with this case no# if you would like to track down the progress of this investigation.

Our MWD team will be giving you a call to advice on the outcome of this case.

Thanks..
Many thanks,

353546 2005-05-17 02:45:00 I rang Dell and spoke to a friendly sales person about my/our concerns about the matter in this thread. The sales guy gave me his email address, and I will send him the link to this thread - I suggested that his supervisor and the Dell managment should be concerned about Dell service. It did help in that I am a Dell customer (bought a PC from them 5 years ago, no complaints, delivery etc. was OK).

Lets hope that the Dell MWD team will get this sorted out, and fast - without the long delays HotKiwi aka Johan has already endured.

PCWorld magazine, imho, is fairly good at publishing letters to the editor. I think they will print your letter - once Dell gives a decent explanation and gets a computer to HotKiwi !!! In this way, everyone wins - HotKiwi gets his Dell PC, PCW does the right thing by printing the letter, and Dell regains their good reputation with prompt (as of today) delivery and a believable explanation of why they cannot ensure a reliable delivery service.
