652773 2008-03-26 00:22:00 Something like Getright, or Freedownloader.

Its a program, that lets you download from more than 1 server, to speed things up a bit. When you download a file.

Yup SP2 should fix the USB one. It'll probably say SP2 is installed, if you installed it anyway.

PS: If you install SP2, you dont have to install SP1. SP2 includes whats in SP1. Thats if you installed SP1 then SP2.

652776 2008-03-26 01:18:00 Right - final thought on this for today. :)

*I have the hardware & software - just arrived
*I have the drivers downloaded - thanks heaps for your help on that
*I've talked to Ascent about my HDD size - he's given me an option of what to do if the HDD doesn't see all of the HDD
*I've worked out how to backup Outlook - that will be a last minute job
*Everything else is backed up

What else do you think I should think of??

I think I'll go out and take some photos, and ponder this again tomorrow!

652777 2008-03-26 01:27:00 Good start. Also, make sure you know your Outlook username and password, as those details aren't kept in the Outlook .pst file.

If you don't know...I know of a lovely little app that can find out all your passwords. :p Let me know if you need it.

Also, have you backed up your bookmarks etc (if you don't want to lose them).

Your pix and the settings such as catalog software if you using those .. to retain your keywords. Photoshop and plugins .. note which plugins you have.

Website editing - the settings to get access to your own website..

My documents, own folders, maybe some files on the desktop, some files say in the shared folder. Bits and pieces in the software folder themselves like MSN Messenger others .. like when you send and receive files from people.. music, video ...

Yes please - for the app for passwords!

And yes, I will at the last minute backup 'Favorites' as well.

652781 2008-03-26 03:28:00 Backup your bookmarks or favorites .
Photoshop and plugins . . note which plugins you have .

Yes - must do that too .

A lot of the other info mentioned is in Outlook in various emails I've sent myself and kept in a separate folder .

Just a question? When I save Outlook . pst and Archive . pst - especially the first and both with today's date - does that include all the bits and pieces such as Contacts, Calendar as well as emails from the past?

Again :thanks

652782 2008-03-26 03:50:00 For Outlook.
The filename does not matter - you can choose a diff name if you wish like today's date. Such as 26mar08.pst.

When you export it, it will export whatever is in that Outlook session at that time. So look via the folders of like Inbox, Sent, Calendars etc...

If you are working on 2x PST files .. then you will have to export 2x separately.

When you export - at the tree diagram collapse the tree diagram and tick "include all subfolders" - so Inbox, Sent, Calendar, Draft, Outbox etc etc.. are also included.

If you have exported a PST file say last month - then that obviously will be 1 month outdated. You can simply export to a diff file and discard the old file. If on the other hand you are using a PST file now that has 2008 only .. and you have archive.pst for the older stuff. What you can do is open up Outlook as now that contains 2008. Import archive.pst but take care to "do not import duplicates". Now you have the whole thing in Outlook, you export this whole thing into a new PST file.

PS: take care to choose "import back into original (same) folders. That means files in the Inbox folder will be imported back into the Inbox folder .. all neat and tidy.
