2005-05-11 09:20:00 | Well you have started a very interesting thread Johan.... I refuse to buy an off the shelf PC and especially when I cannot even view the PC before buying. I have almost been tempted with their laptops, but I think you have definitely made my mind up for me! - thankyou. I find it interesting that Dell partnered with the Warehouse for sales. To me it just down grades the quality of their product. Then now the posts above just tops it off! Good luck! Richard

Also ask them where that courier's depot is and go there when they are loading up - this usually is between 5 and 6 AM. You can contact the head office; managers are very interested in correcting complaints, especially if they know all of us here on PF1 are interested in the outcome (i.e. it is not a closed, private matter). BTW, I used to be a courier. :) Keep on this and act quickly - don't delay. I wonder why Dell will not tell you the name of the courier company? I have seen PBT (Peter Baker Transport) Couriers delieving Dells in Auckland. Does this help? |

2005-05-12 06:55:00 | In Tauranga I think PBT Couriers deliver for Dell. Also I don't think PBT Couriers is the same company as Peter Baker Transport. | Andrew B (867) | |
2005-05-12 07:01:00 | www.pbt.co.nz Come to think of it when I did my order we ordered a lot of stuff from Paradigm PCs in wellington (who used to use PBT couriers all the time), and the Dell computer got mis-delivered to us that same day as well. The plot thickens...

2005-05-13 01:58:00 | :angry Made some fuss yesterday in the malaysian Call centre of Dell, now spoken to Clare, after I had explained everything to suzanne whole story done again. This time only 20 minutes in wait queue...... Promised that i would be called back by a certain Kelvin, who is my 'case manager'. Kelvin phoned in the evening that he had ordered the proof of delivery from the courier. Interesting since I was told on monday that that had been ordered and would take 48 hours to receive. Now today: Kelvin phones me back and said that he 'is happy to let me know that the matter is under investigation' the proof of delivery will take another 5 DAYS to reach them........... There some burning smell came out of my brain and I left him 2 options: a computer as ordered within the coming few days or my money back. Once more he refused to name the courrier..... What an annoyance!!!! I pressed him and he would now step it up to 'management level'....... They would call me back today. Summary: Order confirmation 22 april, computer delivered wrong address 3 May, Today 13 May, no progress at all. With time, the courriers memory will be fading too.............................. :angry

2005-05-13 02:40:00 | Now today: Kelvin phones me back and said that he 'is happy to let me know that the matter is under investigation' the proof of delivery will take another 5 DAYS to reach them . . . . . . . . . . . There some burning smell came out of my brain and I left him 2 options: a computer as ordered within the coming few days or my money back . Once more he refused to name the courrier . . . . . Definitely sounds like stalling . Five days for something that should take no more than a few hours, unless the problem is their systems are so brocken down they don't know what is going on, which is not a good look for an, online order -> deliver to your door - computer company, now is it . Persue the option of reversing the funds, this could be why they are stalling, they don't have the dosh confirmed yet . It also begs the question of why they are hiding the identity of the courier . Most companies are happy to give you the couries particulars along with the tracking number . I suspect these guys have had troubles before, you as the customer are Number 1 on their suspect list . Ring PBT, ring them all if necessary, start shouting theft .

2005-05-13 03:02:00 | HotKiwi - look, it is simple: Just ring PBT Couriers and ask if they deliver Dell PCs in your area. If not, try another company. They all have 0800 numbers. Easy. Once you find the company, ask to speak with the driver of your area. Forget about Malaysia Dell for the moment; another 5 day wait =  | Strommer (42) | |
2005-05-13 04:16:00 | A great idea my friends! I called PBT Couriers and told them Dell had told me that they are their agent in EnZed. They said: that is correct (hehehe). Then the lady told me that Coatesville was too rural (right on the citylimits of Auckland, what about the South Island then) and handed the package on May 3rd to a subcontractor. rural delivery may take a little longer, she told me. In this case then apparently 11 days !!!! So now I am waiting for Dell management and the sleeping subcourier to call me back. Interesting story, follow up will come. Cheers
