| 652434 | 2008-03-26 02:46:00 | Not sure how NZ shops handle with iphone with the small caps .. but being a backpacker and still am when I travel, and myself too, I didn't use the net for games or surfing, I used it for cheap chatting with people overseas - I used the telephones there, others used the headset with like Skype. I'm into photog, but no way am I going to upload or download so much data, its more like I would resize them - hopefully cafes have a card reader and basic software that resize or batch resize. CD/DVD burning a must. If I was a client, dependability, location and amenities would what I want. And of course price. If its too $$$ I would just use it at home, at friend's places, or search for the cheaper option if I was a traveler. On travelI use cafes for net because the hostel's inhouse internet is a slow computer, and $$$ and many not tailored for the travleler - disc burning or headsets for intl chats.... |

You can also offer certain things for sale which travelers might need, camera batteries, cd's, memory cards, flash drives, just some things I can think of that I have needed while away, but I am sure there are more. Maybe sell wireless cards for other local business that use certain wireless companies, you might manage to get some commission off those even if they don't use your cafe. Maybe a pay phone in the corner, not sure if you get a commission off those or not. Long hours of opening, some travellers start early and some are up late. Also look at various options to advertise your business. Web sites, Tourist Info, Local accommodation places etc. I am getting excited about this now, when are we going to open:-) |
