2005-05-09 22:09:00 | I recovered a StarTac that had been dropped in a milk vat. I disassembled (you need a #6 torx driver) and washed all circuitry in clean warm water. Dries and treated with WD40. Was still going 2 years later. But you do need at least 2 days drying or problems will return. If it has a smell, it means there are contaminants in the water. Pure water is not a problem, but that isn't too pure...

2005-05-10 06:05:00 | A couple of hours is nowhere near long enough. Moisture will remain and electrolysis will start. That may cause it to die in a relatively short time, which is why I said to wait a couple of days and not be in too much of a hurry. It's your phone, but I'd remove the battery, put it near heat again and chew tranquilisers for another couple of days until it dries out properly. That may also help with the smell. i thought about that so i left it on the heater all night with the battery out.. and its good now so if it does blow up later i guess ill just have to get a new one which has been required for soem time now anyway .. thanks..

2005-05-10 06:52:00 | How sad, that one cannot just go & sit on the toilet & whilst one end is doing it's thing that the upper end is unable to just pause & stare at the toilet door, & just THINK. !!! PJ :stare: :stare: | Poppa John (284) | |
2005-05-10 11:34:00 | I dropped my phone in a bowl of oil. Cleaned it out with solvent & blew the brains out of it with an airline, good as new & no squeaks. | Phil B (648) | |
2005-05-10 12:52:00 | I left my phone in a puddle overnight. Turned it on and it just vibrated and didn't start [first mistake: turning on]. Plugged in the charger, and it flashed the error light [second mistake]. Heated it up, and it went back to being screwed up like it used to be. It was a crappy, crappy phone. Lying around somewhere now probably.
