I suppose "much" is uncountable while "many" is countable? To exaggerate my claim of too much of emoticons, I guess I should use "much"?

Much is volume. IE, "There's too much caustic soda in my stomach".

Many is number. IE, "People use too many emoticons".

Indefinite is uncountable, but you CAN count the number of emoticons people use, IE 3, 5, 7 or 0.

SO USE "MANY"!
