652873 2008-03-26 02:40:00 Recently I cleared out all the Java dross from my computer which was showing up in the Add/Remove Programs folder in Control Panel. This gave me back a lot of disk space.

In the same place I notice a huge number of 'Hotfixes' and various Microsoft 'Updates'. Do these need to remain to be active, or have they now effected the necessary changes to other files and can be removed?

Untick "show updates" at the top of the add/remove programs window so you don't have to look at them.

This doesnt remove the patches.

BUT, if you want to uninstall any of them, you cant.

Since those files are for uninstalling them.
