The DVR (Everfocus EDR410H) has a LAN port and the camera footage can be veiwed by all local PC's very easily. All in all, we are really happy with the system. We would however like to monitor the DVR footage when no one is on site. After doing a bit of research, we figured this may be possible. However, we don't have a fixed IP address to log into to view the DVR remotely. The DVR is accessed on the internal network by entering 10.1.1.6 in IE6 (won't work in FF) which brings up the Everfocus proprietary monitoring software. The big question is... Is it possible to do this via the net? We have tried Logmein, which does'nt really work that well, as when you take control of a remote PC the Everfocus software goes blank and will not display any pictures at all. A workaround for this is to log into a remote PC and then VNC to another PC which will then show the everfocus dvr software (although it won't update the live picture and will be fixed at the time you logged in). We are at the outer limits of our IT ability here, but if anyone has any other ideas, we would really appreciate the advice. We have had a look at the dyndns site as well, and although this allows us to log into our router, it does'nt allow us to log in to the DVR....well as far as we know anyway:confused:  If anyone has any ideas, please let us know! :clap |

You'll need to find out what ports the software works with, and forward those accordingly. | somebody (208) | ||
