652538 2008-03-25 08:42:00 Hi, I was wondering whats the best possible way to remove some startup programs from my computer? Using msconfig?....and if I disable it in msconfig, am I able to simply turn it back on after my computer restarts?

Cheers,
zahmad

652539 2008-03-25 08:48:00 Use ccleaner and delete the entries. DONT use MSconfig to disable services

If you want to disable services, do it thru control panel / admin tools / services, if you use XP/ 2K.

Just be careful (if you want to disable any service), what you disabled and what it was on originally.

You can use msconfig, if you want to tick the startup entry again (dont use ccleaner in this case), you wont get the entry back.

652542 2008-03-25 09:05:00 you can get entries back if you use cuperutilities startup manager, just click a box to disable, click it again to reenable, and delete to delete, CCleaner only has delete SPARTAN 860 (2618)
652543 2008-03-25 09:11:00 www.mlin.net

get the 2.8 version, also get:

www.mlin.net

That's all you need to have good control over your start up entries ie stop them then maybe at a later date re-instate them, also notification of programs being added into start up and ability to stop this or not.

Thanks...I was confused by what you mentioned...so if I don't actually want to delete a program from startup, i.e. I can disable it, and turn it back on later if required by using msconfig and unticking the certain program, right?.....

....Sorry for my lack of understanding ;)
