Have you tried updating Winamp or uninstalling and reinstalling?

652388 2008-03-24 22:51:00 by any chance you have some sort of CPU temperature monitoring program running?

I use Notebook Hardware Control on my notebook and if I enable the option to monitor ACPI my winamp skips

652390 2008-03-25 00:10:00 If you have one of those things (cant remember the name of it now) ASUS used to make for their mobos (that went in a spare bay), it monitored the temp, had a serial port on it, etc and had an IR port on it.

That used to make everything skip as well, if you wanted it to update every so often.
