| 653276 | 2008-03-27 08:31:00 | Hey all, I'm looking for a VGA switch box as the situation is I have a PC and Xbox 360, and one Viewsonic monitor (with both VGA and HDMI). The Xbox doesn't have HDMI output, which means VGA needs to be used. The PC has HDMI output, but it (HDMI cable) cannot get 1680x1050 which is the best resolution. Either 1280 something, or 1920 something...so VGA again is the only option really. I bought a switch box off Trade Me, but the cable must have been faulty because there was ghosting on the screen when we used it in PC mode (Xbox 360 was fine), I returned it to the owner. He said if I wanted to try another switch box from him, but it didn't work, I wouldn't get my money back from him. So I chose to get my money back, and am now on the hunt for another VGA switch box from a computer shop (mainly coz it'll be much easier to return if it doesn't work). I looked on Ascent.co.nz and a few others but I couldn't find what I need. Is it called a "VGA switch box" on these websites?? Thanks caffy |

I need something that will have 2 VGA ports on one side, and one VGA on the other side, coz the monitor only has one VGA port. But I have 2 VGA sources. So I'll be "switching" between PC mode, and Xbox360 mode, to use the one monitor. |

You can also try some of the gaming retailers, they often have devices that do the same thing. What you could be looking for is a Video Splitter. Example from DickSmiths (www.dse.co.nz) The HDMI Cable may have to have a HDMI to VGA adapter attached. |
